Gamescom is the world's largest games trade show, drawing 300,000 visitors and 1,000+ exhibitors from 60+ countries to Cologne each August. US game studios, console hardware companies, GPU manufacturers, and gaming tech brands attend to launch titles and showcase hardware. Non-EU exhibitors β including all US companies β need an ATA Carnet to bring gaming prototypes, demo systems, display hardware, and AV equipment into Germany without paying EU import duties.
US and other non-EU exhibitors at Gamescom need an ATA Carnet covering professional equipment and exhibition goods. Germany accepts carnets for all standard ATA categories including gaming hardware, display systems, VR equipment, and broadcast gear. The carnet is valid for 12 months β a single carnet can cover Gamescom in August and other German shows later in the year.
Gamescom is held in Germany. Review the specific ATA Carnet requirements, accepted uses, and entry procedures for Germany before you travel.
